KVDT project rehab since last year

KL SENTRAL: The operators of KTM have told about the KVDT project for the future plan, now is going in the first phase.


“Kita tidak ada duduk diam, kita pun ada project sendiri untuk KTM demi masa hadapan,” stated by Zakaria Bin Ahmad, a Marketing officer of KTM.


In the statement, the operators of KTM have discussed the future plan for Komuter Line. Klang Valley Double Tracking (KVDT) is a project that already existed at 1995. The purpose of KVDT project is to upgrade into the new track and make it faster from 90km/h to 140km/h.


KVDT project has three phases so far yet, which is the first phase is Senawang to Salak Selatan, the second phase is Kuala Lumpur to Pelabuhan Klang and the third phase is Kuala Lumpur to Seremban.


The first phase of this rehabilitation of KVDT project was officially started in August 2016. They also mentioned that the number of passengers has increased when this project launching the new train at 2010, from 3-coaches expanded to 6-coaches. Also, during the peak hour, the frequency for waiting for the next train was about in 15 minutes; the non-peak hour is about 30 - 45 minutes.


They also discussed about the few factors that causing the unscheduled delays on commuter lines: track effect; current or the cable effect; and including the exposure issues such as flood causing by the heavy rain; trees cutting down naturally, when fallen trees pressing the pantograph, it will due to cut the current, thus that will causing to the failure connection.


“It’s a card just like a TNG, it’s a stored value card, typically cashless travel ticket. Passengers used it for travel, those who use the cards will enjoy up to 20% discount by each normal generic card for an adult.”, claimed by Anne Viktor, the Marketing Manager of KTM.


Azhar bin Zainuddin, a Operations Manager of KTM, he also mentioned about the benefits of using the Computer Link cards, the card holders do not have to waste up too much of time to queue up for accessing the auto-gate, thus the concession card users are able to enjoy up to 50% discount. After releasing the Komuter link card, they were planned to increase the sales, thus the operators of KTM did a mini campaign that about “giving out free card” during Ramadhan month.

“If your friend is not the card users, you can go to the vending machine and deduct your card to buy the token for you friend, the prizes are same as how you buy the token normally”, told by Muhammad Syairazzi, a Marketing officer of KTM.
